REVIEW - Childish Gambino: Bando Stone and the New World

Childish Gambino AKA Donald Glover - Bando Stone and the New World

Yo, peep this joint. July 19th, I'm hype for this one. I already rocked with "Because the Internet," "Camp," and "3.15.20," so I'm vibin' with Gambino. Let's see how this hits...

1. Hearts Were Meant to Fly - Yo, this intro slaps different. The bass be knockin' and it's already fire! Gambino's bars are solid, even with the voice effects. Trippy vibes, and that ending went hard. Dope drop-off skit too.
Beats: 7/10
Lyrics: 5/10
Overall: 12/20

**2. Lithonia** - Fits perfect with the last skit. It's got that rock vibe, a nice switch-up from the rap game. Sometimes you need that.
Beats: 7/10
Lyrics: 5/10
Overall: 12/20

**3. Survive ft. Chloë** - Intro got me curious. Beat drops, Gambino's spittin' flames. "I'm a soldier, when I die, say I did it for the culture" - that's a bar right there. Hook is smooth. Reminds me of some 3.15.20 vibes but upgraded.
Beats: 8/10
Lyrics: 9/10
Overall: 17/20

**4. Steps Beach** - Guitar? Aight, let's see. Not rap but it’s nice. Got that Cali feel, mellow and smooth. Emotional, lovely track.
Beats: 9/10 (for guitar)
Lyrics: 8/10 (for guitar)
Overall: 17/20

We got a skit here, kinda confusing. Seems like survival vibes, and Gambino’s singing gets roasted by his partner. We'll see what’s up.

**5. Talk my Shit ft. Amaarae & Flo Milli** - Title sounds tough. Better be fire. Flo Milli last time was soft, let’s see now... Gambino's switching perspectives, hook is flames. Amaarae kills it. Flo Milli does her thing too. Solid track.
Beats: 6/10
Lyrics: 8/10
Overall: 14/20

**6. Got to Be** - Nice intro, almost Afrobeats. Starts introspective, then dance? Beat is dope but vocals are hard to catch. After 1:56 it picks up, but too short. Left me wanting more.
Beats: 8/10
Lyrics: 4/10
Overall: 12/20

**7. Real Love** - More guitar, then drums. Already vibin' with this. Dope track, hope it hits the charts. Too short though, wanted more.
Beats: 7/10
Lyrics: 10/10
Overall: 17/20

**8. In the Night ft. Jorja Smith** - Love this, 70s throwback vibes. Love song, charming and haunting. Smith's part is on point. Voice switch is dope, gives chills.
Beats: 7/10
Lyrics: 9/10
Overall: 16/20

**9. Yoshinoya** - Heard chatter on this, kept myself from spoilers. Yo mama sample, funny. Gambino's rapping, sounds like Drake? Oh snap, he’s dissing Drake?! This is wild, gotta replay.
Beats: 4/10 (not a fan)
Lyrics: 9/10
Overall: 14/20 (subject to change)

**10. Can You Feel Me ft. Legend** - Fun, light track. Legend sounds like a kid, could be voice changer. Reminds me of 70s tunes.
Beats: 5/10
Lyrics: 8/10
Overall: 13/20

**11. No Excuses** - Silence then chimes. Nice, but sad. Beautiful beat but sad vibes.
Beats: 8/10
Lyrics: 7/10
Overall: 15/20

**12. Cruisin' ft. Yeat** - Skeletal beat, frog croak noise, creative! Interesting track. Dreaming of Africa, love it. Yeat is typical but doesn't hurt the track. Hook is dope.
Beats: 7/10
Lyrics: 8/10
Overall: 15/20

**13. We Are God** - Weird title, weird noises, nice singing. Lyrics are okay, but something spooky about it.
Beats: 8/10
Lyrics: 6/10
Overall: 14/20

**14. Running Around ft. Fousheé**
- Pop rock vibes. Fun music, Fousheé raps nicely, a bit scattered. Nice ending.
Beats: 6/10
Lyrics: 7/10
Overall: 13/20

**15. Dadvocate** - Country music? Gambino covering all genres! Phone addiction message, decent track.
Beats: 6/10
Lyrics: 9/10
Overall: 14/20

**16. Happy Survival** - Happy instrumental.
Beats: 8/10

**17. A Place Where Love Goes** - Fun outro, rapping again. Love the hook, familiar singing. Good concert track.
Beats: 8/10
Lyrics: 6/10
Overall: 14/20

Overall, this album is solid. It's got that Cali shopping music vibe but it's fire. Some tracks are gems! Great way to wrap up the Gambino character. Final track feels like a peaceful ending.

Overall: 77% - Some things aren't my jam but that's cool. Still wondering about that Drake diss though.

Best song: Real Love.
Worst Song: Got to Be.
Favorite song: In the Night ft. Jorja.
